Work, Doctors, and Car Trips

"Wow, gotta say I didn’t realize how truly busy you get with having a wee one in your life. Man I have trouble keeping up with any and all other things that need to be done, although the truth is that I really don’t want to do them, I would much rather play with my daughter. But oh well, I have so much to write about.

I returned to work on the 25th of August. Boy that day was hard. I cried after giving my baby to my mother-in-law (who is truly wonderful that she is watching Fi for us), I cried all the way to work, then at lunch when I called to check up on her (I am proud of me I only checked up on her twice that day!!!). Then of course I cried that night when I was holding her, I missed her so much. Oh there I go tearing up at the thought of it!

Last Friday we kinda had a freakout moment. When Fi and I got up for her 3 o’clock feeding I noticed all these red bumps on her face, just thought that it was baby acne and didn’t think about it for awhile until I noticed it was getting worse and was on the top of her chest and shoulders. Totally flipped out!!! Called the doctors office and they had me bring her in, so I did, I love her pediatrician, did I mention that? He didn’t make me feel stupid (even though I did) about bringing her in. Turns out it was just baby acne and cradle cap on the sides of her face and forehead. Whew!

This is Fi waiting for the Doctor to come in look at her.

So we also had our first long car trip this weekend, we went to Little Rock to visit my Aunt Terri and her family. She did so good on the trip, I really thought that she would be screaming all the way there, but no she slept up until the last 30 minutes of the trip there and back again. She did have to have the overhead light turned on for the last 30 mins of the trip there because she is afraid of the dark.

I am so dreading Thursday, she is getting her immunizations in the morning, and she is so going to not be a happy baby that morning.
