So last night we had a breakthrough! I got a sleeper for Fi to sleep in, instead of a traditional bassinet. It is suppose to be much better and mobile, so you can take it with you. Well she is now getting a little big for the sleeper so I thought I would start transitioning her into her crib before she is definitely too big for the sleeper.
Up until now I would put her down, no matter the time of day or night and she would wake up within 5-10 minutes. I was starting to get worried that she would never sleep in the crib. Well last weekend I decided I was going to tough it out and no matter what she would sleep in the crib. Well I say HA to that!
Friday night I was totally prepared for it, I put her down for her last nap before bedtime and she did so well, she slept for 40 mins in her crib! I thought HA this is totally going to be easy! Well I think I cursed myself at that point. I had her well swaddled and put her down on the wedge I got at the babyshower and when she fell asleep I put her down and she woke up within minutes. Ok I thought this happens sometimes in her sleeper as well, so no worries, I rocked her back asleep and put her down again. Woke right back up, we went through this for about an hour, I couldn't take it anymore, the next time I got her asleep I put her in the sleeper. This is how it went all weekend long.
Well, last night I changed how I did things, I still rocked her asleep but I didn't tightly swaddle her, it seems she is now fighting to get out of the blankets, and I removed the wedge, she kept sliding down it and kept getting her arms trapped. If there is one thing my baby hates is having her arms trapped by anything. So when she fell asleep I laid her down on a blanket and loosely wrapped her up, so if she moved around it wouldn't pull and wake her up, then I also took a warmer blanket and put that ontop of her. She slept for 3 hours!!!
She ate and went back to sleep and slept for 4 hours this time and then another 2.
WE MADE IT!!!!!!!
Funny thing is I missed her being at the foot of the bed on my side...
