The Bakers: July 2012

I can't believe Fiona is 2. Seriously seems just like we were just bringing her home from the hospital. We had her party at Chuck E Cheese and oh how she LOVED it! She did really well with Chuck E and she just wanted to dance with him the whole time. Her 2nd Birthday party was Minnie Mouse themed and I think it turned out really well.
Mike helped me make the invitations. He cut out all the large mouse heads for me, thankfully! I loved the saying on these invitations, I thought they turned out really cute.

I decided to go with cupcakes instead of a cake - thinking it would be easier to serve and transport. I think it was pretty perfect. Donna (my grandmother otherwise known as DeeDee) and I spent all week testing icings to find one that would stay kinda stiff so it would look nice. We ended up using canned frosting that we added cornstarch to, to make it stiff. I think it worked pretty well, they held up really well after I piped them. Here is a picture of the cupcake before the "Mouse Ears" were added.

Here is one with the mouse ears - Sorry they kinda melted on the way home in the back of the car - I forgot to take a picture earlier - so terribly busy! If anyone got a better picture I will add it later.

And of course when having a kids party you can't forget the goodie bags. I got this idea off pinterest (gotta love that site!!!!) Found the bags at Wal-mart and then added the mouse head and stickers of the initials of each kid. I think they were pretty cute.

I made marshmellow pops for the goodie bags. Fi loves them and well so do I. I always have fun making these and I love how easy they are.

and I made Trix-crispie treats, but oh they so didn't work out well. They are really good but stickier than anything! I couldn't make them into small enough sizes to fit in bags to go inside the goodie bags, so I just left them for anyone to eat.

Well so I won't go over all the party but lets just say it was CRAZZY and fun and Fi had a blast! She got so many toys and she loves them all. I think she will end up running someone over with the 4-wheeler Chase got her. She loves all the Minnie Mouse things she got. Some very smart people got her a couple of DVD's - I can stop recording Mickey's Clubhouse and Sesame Street everyday!!!! Here is a lot of pictures of her party.
